Fernandes Guitars proudly announces the addition of a master guitarist to our Sustainer Artist list, Marty Friedman. As you may know, Marty began as a Schrapnel solo recording artist and later joined forces with Jason Becker to form the unrivaled dual guitar unit, CACOPHONY, who have a strong influence on today’s top guitarists. Racking up sales of over 10 million records with MEGADETH, Marty continued to record solo records, often embarking on adventurous musical forays, including an album with Golden Globe winner Kitaro. Now residing in Tokyo, Friedman has become a television celebrity appearing as a regular on 5 major networks, he can be seen on mainstream hit TV programs almost every day in Japan.
His latest offering, “LOUDSPEAKER” is exactly the kind of record that Friedman fans have been waiting for. 1) What type of guitar are you currently playing? (Model, type, specs...)
The Fernandes Ravelle Tremolo. I currently have two and the slight difference is that one is equipped with both the EMG 81 and 85 and the other is equipped with the EMG 81 and the Fernandes Sustainer.
2) How does the Fernandes Ravelle guitar influence and interact with Inquisition's music?
This guitar offers excellent low end thanks to that thick mahogany, heaviness is a must for Inquisition and lows are its foundation. The maple top allows for enough highs to detail our power chords without sounding too bright or thin and they really surface nicely when I let the notes ring out. In my playing I use big power chords and every note counts, if the lows kill the highs for example, then a song is damaged. I need balance and this guitar is very much balanced. The sustain is superb, another vital need in our music and its atmosphere. With little sustain we risk sounding empty.
Above all, I am a slave to tone, paired with the right amp big or small I get what I am looking for every time and combined with the active pickups it’s a brutal guitar for brutal music. Read more..

Veteran New Jersey thrashers OVERKILL have announced the second leg of their Killfest 2010 tour. The trek will consist of stops in markets where the band has not been in a long time, including several dates in the North Carolina and Florida. Support on the tour will come from FORBIDDEN, EVILE, GAMA BOMB and BONDED BY BLOOD.
As is costumary, OVERKILL's Dave Linsk will be shredding on his Ravelle guitars.
And FORBIDDEN's Matt Camacho will be abusing his Tremor basses.

HALFORD will continue touring South and North America this year, with a nice array of Fernandes guitars and basses. Guitarist/producer Roy Z will rock his Ravelle and Vortex guitars, “Metal” Mike Chlasciak will sport Vortex guitars as well, and Mike Davis will supply the low end with his Atlas basses. A tour to be remembered, as the band will be performing classics from JUDAS PRIEST, FIGHT and HALFORD.

Norwegian guitarist, producer, teacher and sound engineer, Andy Boss (formerly of PAUL DI'ANNO and ABSOLUTE STEEL) is now part of the Fernandes Family of artists, as he recently finished touring Europe alongside former JUDAS PRIEST vocalist Tim Ripper Ownens solo band.
