Bijoy Bayanno is a Bangla keyboard program for Windows. It maps the Bijoy layout onto a standard QWERTY keyboard so you can type Bengali in any application, and it outputs either Unicode or the older non-Unicode (ANSI) encoding that print shops and legacy documents still use. About Bijoy Bayanno
Bijoy Bayanno is Bangla input software for Windows built on the Bijoy keyboard layout that Mustafa Jabbar of Ananda Computers introduced in 1988. The layout is the standard in Bangladeshi publishing and government offices, so anyone who learned to type Bangla on a computer there already knows the key positions.
Once installed, the program sits in the system tray and a hotkey switches the keyboard between Bangla and English. It works in every application that accepts text: Word, Excel, browsers, design software and chat apps. There is no separate editor to type into and copy from.
Output can be Unicode or ANSI. Unicode is what websites, email and modern documents expect, and text typed this way displays on any device. ANSI is the older encoding tied to fonts such as SutonnyMJ. Many printing presses still require it, as does editing documents created in the 1990s and 2000s, and Bijoy Bayanno is one of the few tools that still produces it.
It supports Windows 10 and 11, works offline after installation and needs no account. The archive comes as a .rar file, so you need WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract the installer. Bijoy is a registered trademark of Ananda Computers; this page is not affiliated with the company.
