YouTube Vanced

YouTube Vanced refers to a group of modified Android apps designed to enhance the standard YouTube experience with additional controls and features not available in the official app. These applications focus on ad-free playback, background listening, and deeper customization while still providing access to the same YouTube content.

The original YouTube Vanced project is no longer actively maintained, but its functionality continues through community projects such as ReVanced. These tools modify the official YouTube app to enable features like ad blocking, background playback, and interface customization.

Several components are typically used together. ReVanced Manager allows users to patch and install modified versions of the YouTube app. MicroG provides a lightweight replacement for Google services that enables optional account login and subscriptions. YouTube Music ReVanced extends similar features to the YouTube Music app.

Unlike clients that stream content independently, these apps modify the official YouTube application itself. This preserves compatibility with YouTube accounts, recommendations, and subscriptions while adding features such as ad removal, sponsor skipping, advanced playback controls, and additional interface options.
