About mGBA

mGBA is a fast and accurate emulator for the Game Boy Advance that also plays original Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles. It is designed to run classic handheld games on a wide range of devices while staying lightweight enough to work smoothly even on low-end hardware.

The emulator is free and open-source, created by Vicki Pfau and maintained with community contributions under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Its code is publicly available, and official builds are provided for many platforms and gaming handhelds.

mGBA includes a broad feature set: save states with multiple slots, in-game saves with automatic save-type detection, fast-forward, rewind, cheat codes, controller remapping, screenshot and video recording, and support for special cartridge hardware such as real-time clocks, rumble, and sensors.

mGBA runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, and several consoles including the Nintendo Switch, 3DS, Wii, and PlayStation Vita. It does not include game ROMs; users must supply their own legally obtained files, and the emulator does not collect personal data.
