PCSX2

PCSX2 is a PlayStation 2 emulator that runs PS2 games on modern computers. It reproduces the console's hardware in software, letting users play their PS2 titles with enhanced visuals and modern features that go beyond what the original console could offer.

The project is free and open-source, developed by the PCSX2 team and a large community of contributors under the GNU GPL. Its source code is publicly available and official release builds are published for each supported platform.

PCSX2 provides high-resolution upscaling, multiple rendering backends including Vulkan, OpenGL, Direct3D, and Metal, save states, virtual memory cards, modern controller support, per-game settings, widescreen patches, cheats, and built-in gameplay recording, giving users fine control over performance and image quality.

The emulator runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. It requires a BIOS dumped from a legally owned PlayStation 2 and does not include any games or BIOS files; users must supply their own legally obtained files, and the emulator does not collect personal data.
