Electric Guitars

Compare archived Fernandes electric models by body style and equipment. This selection draws mainly on the 2008 to 2013 catalogs and includes both Sustainer and conventional pickup configurations.

Fernandes closed in 2024 and no longer builds new electric guitars. Original models still trade actively on the used market, where trusted sellers ship worldwide.

Dragonfly Series

Dragonfly specifications change substantially between tiers. Compare the set-neck Elite and Deluxe versions with the longer-scale, bolt-on Pro and X before choosing a body style alone.

The Dragonfly would be a fine instrument even if it only had the two pickups. It's well made, very attractive, and sounds great. When you add the Sustainer to the equation, however, the 'Fly becomes a wildly unique guitar that is just bursting with creativity. This is a great guitar.Guitar Player Magazine

Monterey Series

The Monterey family includes fixed bridges and locking tremolos. Some versions use a Sustainer neck driver, while others carry a pair of conventional humbuckers.

The Monterey Elite is a superb instrument in its own right, while the integrated Sustainer places it in a league of its own and brings unnatural note-holding power to the masses.Guitar World Magazine

Ravelle Series

Ravelle models share an asymmetric outline. The suffix identifies the electronics package and bridge, so include the complete model name when comparing listings.

Retrorocket Series

The Retrorocket uses a familiar S-style double-cutaway body. Look closely at the pickup layout: the DG-20-equipped Deluxe DG differs from both the Sustainer versions and the three-single-coil X.

Revolver Series

Revolver options include neck-through six-string instruments and bolt-on seven-string variants. Match the pickup configuration to the relevant catalog year.

Vertigo Series

The Vertigo has an offset angular body and several hardware packages. A visible neck driver and mode switches distinguish Sustainer-equipped examples from conventional pickup versions.

Its thick, fast feel is unlike any other ax. Its stout build rivals that of many custom shop guitars, and combining proven hardware with light-weight mahogany creates one of the heaviest rock sounds available in a stock guitar.Guitar World Magazine

Vortex Series

Vortex guitars use a V-shaped body. The lineup covers active-pickup Deluxe models as well as Sustainer-equipped versions and simpler X specifications.

V-Hawk Series

The V-Hawk Deluxe pairs EMG-85 and EMG-81 pickups with a fixed bridge. The Japanese Elite adds a Sustainer and locking tremolo, making it a different setup to maintain.

Vulcan Series

Fernandes presented the Vulcan as a revision of its Vertigo shape. The Elite JP, Deluxe, and X use different neck joints and electronics.

Nomad Series

The compact Nomad includes its own amplifier and speaker. Its guitar and bass versions have different scales and pickup systems.

The NOMAD is a very well-constructed travel guitar with great built-in FX that I have used to write songs, practice and warm up before every show on tour. Thank you, Fernandes.Adam Jones, TOOL

Classic Series

Revolver Classic models pair a quilted maple veneer with an alder back. Their Sustainer and Seymour Duncan pickup combination differs from the standard Revolver Elite package.

Before comparing two listings

Read the full model name, including JP, Tremolo or FR where present. Those additions can distinguish a different scale length or bridge, even when two guitars share the same body outline.

The cards summarize catalog configurations rather than every production revision. Match the controls and pickup layout to the pictured instrument, then check fret wear and any modifications. Factory Sustainer specifications do not confirm that a used example still has its original electronics.
